Inspired by the form of a diamond, this resort-like residence balances defined architectural lines with softness, warmth and understated luxury.
The concept for Diamond Residence was inspired by the name of the street it sits, Diamond. This became a subtle starting point for the design, exploring the angular forms, sharper lines and defined edges associated with a diamond and weaving them into the architectural language of the home.
These elements became part of the bones of the design, influencing everything from form and detailing through to the selection of tapware and hardware. While there is a strength and structure to these sharper elements, they are balanced with softer materials, textures and finishes to ensure the home still feels warm, relaxed and inviting.
The home is centred around the backyard, creating a strong connection between the interior and exterior and giving the main living spaces a resort-like sense of openness and ease. We wanted that feeling to carry throughout the entire home, guiding us towards a more relaxed and understated approach to luxury.
Rather than relying on excess, luxury is introduced through small but impactful moments—marble doorframes and skirting, illuminated wardrobes and display areas, and a custom-designed open fireplace. The expansive ceiling heights are celebrated through recessed lighting details and dropped pendants, drawing the eye upward and adding another layer of atmosphere to the spaces.
Ultimately, Diamond Residence balances strength with softness, structure with warmth, and luxury with restraint, creating a home that feels considered and elevated, while still feeling comfortable to live in.
